Our nursery and display garden, situated just outside Coventry (directions here), is full of rare and unusual flowers and grasses. From spring until autumn there’s so much to see, with extensive collections of Geum, Geranium, Crocosmia, Agapanthus, Eryngium and Helenium, to name but a few (garden tour here)!
We are now National Collection Holders for three plant families, Symphyotrichum novae-angliae (Aster novae-angliae), Anemone nemorosa and Sanguisorba. Our Wood Anemones are stunning when the nursery opens in March. Our Sanguisorbas are in flower throughout the summer, and over 50 varieties of Michaelmas Daisies are on show in our display garden during Aster Week in September. Most plants in the collections are available to buy in the nursery. Take a look at our Collections Page packed with information and photos.
We've been lucky enough to feature in several magazine articles recently! Take a look at our Press Page to see links to our magazine articles and a BBC 'Gardener's World' TV clip!
Visitors often use our garden like a reference book, as all of our plants are clearly labelled (Slideshow here).
If you make a note of the plants you like which are not yet available in the nursery, we can send you a reminder next year along with our newsletter. Entrance to the garden is free, except on Charity Open Days and for group visits.
We’re happy to arrange visits for garden clubs and societies. These include an introductory chat, viewing the garden and the opportunity to ask questions about the plants.
John Gillies, who grows and sells choice and rare shrubs, is right next door to our nursery; he offers a complimentary range of plants to our own, and well worth a visit!
Teas, home-made cakes and light lunches are available at the Potting Shed Café. Russell’s stunning Quarry Garden, on the same site, is also well worth a visit, especially in late spring, with a dazzling display of azaleas and rhododendrons.

There are 300 additions to the catalogue this year, including a record thirty plants new to the RHS Plant Finder! We’ve named an exciting new Geum, discovered in our garden, called Tutti Frutti.
Most of our plants are illustrated here on our website, and can be seen in the display garden.
Brian is well known for his enthusiastic talks on a variety of subjects, which he can customise for individual garden clubs or societies. Email or ask at the nursery for details.
Many of the descriptions in our catalogue include advice about the ideal position for a plant. If you need further advice, please ask at the nursery, but contact us first to check if Brian is here in person! He can also offer a design consultancy service if required.
Unfortunately we don’t offer mail order, but we can take orders to plant fairs if they are closer to you than the nursery. Check the list of venues on our Events Page.
If you’re visiting the nursery for a particular plant, it’s advisable to phone or email us beforehand to avoid disappointment, especially later in the season.
